Experimental Portraits

After ages, I whipped out my trusty black ink pen and pencils. It was a relief from writing and reading. It makes me wonder why I’m not doing art, but at the same time, I’ve no regrets about law.

I’ve never done portraits before, because I fear that I’d make a perfectly fine human being look grotesque. I did try once – a portrait of some Korean actor for a friend – but that failed terribly. So I decided to start with a self-portrait. At least if it turned out ugly, it would just be me.

British actor Benedict Cumberbatch who doesn’t look like Benedict Cumberbatch.

And finally, the heroic German U-boat Lieutenant Commander W. Hartenstein as played by Ken Duken who doesn’t look like Ken Duken or Hartenstein either.

Experimental success or failure? Oh well.
